3W4D - One Film: Emma Edition
I'm out of ideas.
Emma (dot) 2020. Great costuming. Seriously.
The vibes are immaculate. Interesting shots. They understand the source material, not dissimilar to P&P '95. There's some "Darcy jumps in a lake scene", erhm, scenes.
Yeah, it's quality.

(I'm a bit unclear on it in my head, aside from that and enjoying it - more than I had expected, because I hadn't liked the look of that Emma & Mr Knightley much from tumblr gifsets, but it came on the TV when I was watching All The Emmas, so I snagged it and had a lovely time after all. I'm not sure I'm down with the nosebleed choice, but then all the Emmas barring the BBC 2009 commit some crime or other somewhere. But I watched so many Emmas at once I can't remember that one so much, because it was new and not a rewatch. XD)
My favourite adaptation is the lovely BBC 2009 with Romola Garai, but I enjoyed all of them & Kate Beckinsale and Jeremy Northam remain my fave Emma and Mr Knightley, even if they were in separate adaptations in the same year. (I was so cross about that when I was younger, I refused to rewatch or like either, lol.) But, yeah, I thought they all had different takes with different virtues and vices and I had a very nice time.

Now I'm wondering about the sins. Emma dot 2020 is the only one I've watched so far.
OMG XD I get that feeling though.

Beyond the nosebleed, I really can't remember the specifics with that one, which is what you get for watching too many versions of the same thing in a row, lol. I just mean that they always have to emphasise one thing over another with the shorter ones & have a greater tendency to add or omit something you'd rather they didn't, whereas the longer BBC serials can cover everything! But, yeah, I enjoyed them all and the 2020 was indeed beautifully made and a lot of fun to watch.
ETA: Even those these aren't the same 5 I watched in a short space (tho' I have seen Clueless), this vid sums up my feelings about all the Emmas being a Five Cakes situation, and it's really clever!

Ah, scratch Emma 2020 being the only adaptation I watched, I saw Clueless to lol.
That's a wonderful vid!
